Rich Text

There are variety of places in Shard Tabletop where you can enter rich text. This allows you to format the text to make it easier to read and in some cases allow users to take action when viewing the text, for example links or dice rolls.

Shard Linking

While reading through content it is frequently handy to link to entries in Shard that you can view as a reference. In order to make this easy our rich text edits have options to make it easy to create and use these links.

Auto Highlighting

While you are editing rich text Shard looks through the text and highlights potential links. These links show up underlined with double blue lines.

To create a link just click the underlined text and click the magnifying glass to search for a match.

Link Search

Click the desired link and then SET LINK to create the link.

Note: you can change the text if the search is not finding the correct match. The text for the link will not be changed.

Manual Shard Links

Even if the text is not highlighted, you can still create a link to a shard entry. Simply highlight the text and click the link tool.

The magnifying glass will bring up the same link search. Type into the text field to find what you want to link and set the link the same as above.

Dice Rolls

In most D&D text it is common practice to bold dice rolls. In most cases within a character sheet or a campaign, Shard will detect these patterns and make the bolded text rollable. The rollable text will show a D20 dice icon to let you know it is rollable.

To make your own dice rolls just bold the dice roll. Hints to make sure that you get the right roll.

  • A +# (for example +4) combination will be treated as a D20 attack roll.

  • Don’t bold surrounding parentheses or other special characters like a period.
